+# Contributing to the WCL Node Registry
+
+## Adding your node
+
+1. Fork this repository
+2. Open `nodes.txt`
+3. Add your node URL on a new line (must serve `WCL-1.1.md` content)
+4. Submit a pull request
+
+**Node requirements:**
+- URL must be publicly accessible
+- Must serve the WCL-1.1 license text (content-identical to `WCL-1.1.md` in this repo)
+- Must be a stable URL (no personal hosting, no URL-shorteners)
+- HTTPS required
+
+## Suggesting changes to the license text
+
+WCL-1.1 is a released version. Changes to the license text result in a new version number.  
+To propose WCL-1.2 or later: open an issue describing the change and rationale.  
+The steward (Odysseus Melchizedek Shiloh) reviews and issues new versions.
+
